A Brotha in the Kitchen Presents.....Coconut Maple Plantains


I found this recipe on Instagram on a page called “fitmencook” and let me tell you….this was the EASIEST and QUICKEST desert I have ever made!


Seriously, I was done in less than 15 minutes, and that includes prep time!


Let’s go!


Coconut Maple Plantains




3 ripe plantains

4 tablespoons coconut oil

¼ tablespoon maple syrup

Cinnamon to taste





Let's Get Cooking!


  • Add 4 tablespoons of coconut oil to a NON-STICK (this is important) skillet and turn heat to medium high. Let it heat about 5 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, peel and slice plantains

  • Carefully add plantains to skillet, cover and cook for 5 minutes

  • Remove lid, flip and cook and additional 3-5 minutes.


  • Remove from heat, toss with maple syrup, sprinkle cinnamon on top and enjoy!
